Milano!
So we made it to Milaan!
We made it to our first hitch hiking stop in Genova at about 9:30 this morning. When we got there, we realized that this spot was directly in front of a police station. We dont have the best luck with hitch hiking and the Italian Police on this trip, so we were a little sketchy about the spot. But, our expert hitch hiker friend Elena assured us that this was the best place, so we trusted her judgment. About 20 minutes later our first car pulled over, and Italian man named Geovani. We managed to speak a considerable amount of english/italian with him, and he drove us about 40km to a petrol station near a town called Busalla. This was the first time we had been somewhere where snow covered everything, and it was freezing cold! Before we said goodbye, he took us into the Cafe and bought us each a cup of expresso to keep us moving.
Not long after, we got a ride from a girl named Stephany. She drove us the rest of the way, all the way into the city. She left us where we are now, at a macdonals (of course) where we are couch surfing and looking for a host for tonight!
We are hoping to stay the weekend and then move another 250km to Venace on monday.
wish us luck!
-Liam.

Ciao ragazzi!
You’re still in Italy so… possiamo ancora parlare italiano, right?
Happy that you easily reached Milano!
And… bigger is the town… more are the chances to find food in it!
But… first of all… good luck with finding a place where to crash tonight!
Buona serata e buona fortuna!
Elena
